ah, a new sales tactic - buy a crap plate and get a horrible barge thrown in for the price. hard up Faz or selling to acquire new crap plates?

reality of your sale:
car - 2,500
plate - 500 max
combined: £2750

accept £2k

that's the old slab-sided barge that Top Gear fileld with concrete right?

one of the ugliest cars ever made! Technically brilliant at its time, but otherwise a sh1te Mercedes! A 3.2 litre 'thirsty' engine lugging round a huge heavy barge with the aerodynamics of a brick, when petrol is £1.50 per litre isn't gonna rush off your drive I suspect! And as for people thinking the plate is 3k too - equally ridiculous!

that's the one - $billion in development. you have to drive/be driven in one to really appreciate it. smooth as silk. double glazed windows make the cabin almost silent (your passenger can have a conversation on a mobile at 100mph without the other person knowing you're in a car!) ... not that I've driven 100 mph of course! :P

I've already had 1k for the plate before.

what an odd thing to quote - "$billion in development" - yes, back in the 80s!. Nowadays, there's more technology and features in a Ford Focus that your barge!

And as for double glazing - which only makes it even heavier and even more fuel ineffcient. Yep, I can see the Foreign Embassies queing up now to take it off your hands

WTF did you buy such a crap car? I know you like buying crap, but it's not like you're 50 or something. WTF possessed you, a 28 year old male to buy something as bad and self-ageing as that! And then to stick your plate on it too! In fact, just thinking about it, you will probably get more for the car selling it without your plate on it!

ah yes - I remember - dear old Liam Neals who thought you were a complete t1t and withdrew his offer (of £600 I recall!)

it's not the 'prettiest' car but then again I don't think it has to be or even should be. It looks 'stately', which is kind of the point of a car like this surely?

I'm not desperate at all. I was just saying that I would prefer to sell the plate for 3k than the car ...

just to help with your pricing structure yet again as you don't seem to understand it still.

There's later trade S280s knocking around by you with less miles for less than £2k.
Therefore, private sale on yours is probably around £1.5k. Or £1.5k with the plate on it.

check out: http://pistonheads.com/sales/3532131.htm

S500, newer shape, better colour, half the miles, sat nav, electric everything, heated and air cooled seats, cruise etc

ASKING PRICE OF 2950!

So, it's faster, better looking, a year younger, half the mileage, better spec and less money... i know which I'd rather have!! Somehow don't think you're gonna get 3k or 5k for your shed somehow FF!

Thanks Reg.

What would you rather have:-

1. Knowledge and practice of the English language. Or
2. Knowledge and practice of business acumen.

why assume mutual exclusivity Looky?

mine has cruise control, heated seats etc. too ... S500 is LESS desirable to some actually.
the 'newer shape' W220 is known to be inferior to the older W140 by most mercedes enthusiasts.

wow, they must have forgotten to spend $billions on that newer model if it was so bad. Odd that you see so many on the roads and was described as one of the best Mercedes ever made...

do keep us informed of how all your sales are doing:

2 cars
15 plates
T shirts
Mugs
Cufflinks

Regrentals too.

That's quite some collection of absolute ***** you have there. All those ideas, and not even £1 sold. How utterly embarassing!

The w221 (current S) was a return to form but the 220 is generally best avoided. Those in the know recognise this.
