I have a complicated & rather delicate problem!

My stepson's father passed away a few years back & his widow (not stepsons mum!) now has his private plate in retention.

My stepson (who is only 14) was prommised the number by his dad and she has agreed to give it to his mum to keep for when he's old enough.

Is there any way to do this without putting it onto a vehicle now, but also have have his mum having the only title to use it?

Cheers, Nez

You can add your Stepson to the Retention Certificate as Nominee that way title of the number goes to him (i.e he receives the retention certificate with his name on). You can now pay for it to be kept on retention for up to 3 years which is just right as in 3yrs he'll probably be getting his first car at 17yrs. (£25.00 per year).
